Indian Wedding Outfits: What to Wear for Your Brother’s Wedding

Indian Wedding Outfits for Every Function
Indian weddings consist of multiple rituals and events, each requiring a unique Indian wedding outfit. Pre-wedding rituals also include various ceremonies where your wardrobe choices need to be well thought out. A brother’s wedding is not just another family function—it’s an emotional and joyous occasion where you want to look your best. With multiple ceremonies spanning several days, choosing the right Indian wedding outfits becomes both exciting and overwhelming. Paying attention to the clothes colour combination for each event helps create a cohesive and stunning look. From vibrant Mehendi attire to a regal wedding-day look, here’s how I curated my wardrobe to make a statement at each function.
My Shopping Experience for Indian Wedding Outfits
Kalki
I shopped from Kalki for other festive events that were not the main ones but still important. Marwadi weddings typically last for five days, and I got two outfits from here for different ceremonies.

Seasons
Seasons had a great collection for all the functions, but I preferred their Indo-Western collection the most. Their price range is also perfect, making it an ideal choice for stylish yet budget-friendly wedding outfits.

Pernia Pop-Up Store
I discovered this store through an Instagram ad, and since they were having a sale, I decided to visit. I went to their Bandra Turner Road store, and it was an experience in itself! This luxury designer store had collections from renowned Indian designers like Anamika Khanna and Dolly Jain. Apart from clothing, they also offered footwear, bags, and jewelry, making it a one-stop shop for Indian wedding outfits.

Neeta Lulla
Right next to Pernia Pop-Up Store is the Neeta Lulla boutique. Walking into the Neeta Lulla boutique felt like stepping into a world of elegance. The store had a regal charm, with handcrafted lehengas and exquisite embroidery on display. While the traditional color palette wasn’t what I was looking for, the craftsmanship was truly next-level. I initially wanted to get my Haldi outfit from here, but since I wanted a brown lehenga and they mostly had traditional colors like yellow, blue, and baby pink, I decided to look elsewhere.
One of the highlights of my shopping experience was meeting Neeta Lulla herself! She was sitting on the stairs, speaking to a client, and explaining everything with so much patience and humility. Her guidance made the shopping experience even more memorable. Her knowledge of design and intricate details left a lasting impression on me.

Aza Fashion
Aza is another luxury designer store. While the collection was impressive, the sale section was a bit disorganized. However, I discovered some amazing ethnic wear designers here, such as Abhinav Mishra and Seema Gujral. They also had a great range of footwear and jewelry to complement the outfits.

Dhwaja
This was my favorite brand, and I shopped for all my main occasions here. I first discovered Dhwaja through my masi and had also browsed their collection on Pernia Pop-Up Store’s website. However, I found it difficult to visualize the outfits online, so my masi suggested visiting their boutique.
The experience was incredible! They customized everything I needed, gave me the best styling suggestions, and I received the most compliments for the outfits I purchased from here.

My Five-Day Wedding Wardrobe Breakdown
I made sure none of my colors or outfit styles were repeated throughout the wedding festivities. Each outfit had a unique look and feel:
Day 1: Chaura, Sath Path & Vinayak Poojan (Morning) + Haldi (Evening)
- Morning Outfit: Custom-made from a local designer.
- Haldi Outfit: Dhwaja’s corset-style blouse paired with a brown lehenga, giving it a Western-inspired look.
Day 2: Mehendi (Morning) & Vivala (Afternoon)
- Mehendi Outfit: A Kalki outfit that was vibrant and comfortable.
- Vivala Outfit: A custom-made lehenga inspired by Mira Rajput’s Jayanti Reddy lehenga (Pinterest is a great help for outfit inspiration!).
Day 3: Sangeet (Evening)
- Outfit: A stunning grey gown from Dhwaja.
- Accessories: Statement earrings and a unique hairstyle to elevate the look.
Day 4: Guru Bhakti (Morning) + Bhai’s Bandoli (Night)
- Morning Outfit: A custom-made chikankari off-white anarkali by Rakhi Sonigra.
- Night Outfit: An Indo-Western outfit from Seasons.
Day 5: Wedding Day
- Outfit: A breathtaking crimson lehenga from Dhwaja, featuring delicate strawberry embellishments on the back dori.
- Jewelry: Traditional polki jewelry, which was Jodha-inspired necklace to enhance the regal vibe.
Investment Accessories: The Power of Statement Jewelry
For my Sangeet, Haldi, and Wedding Day, I opted for statement gold jewelry to complement my outfits. I specifically chose pieces that stood out and enhanced my overall look. The Jodha-style polki jewelry I wore on my wedding day truly gave my crimson lehenga a royal touch. On other days, I let my outfits shine by keeping accessories minimal. Investing in timeless gold pieces added a luxurious touch to my looks while maintaining elegance.
To complete my wedding look, I carefully selected essential accessories that balanced tradition and modern elegance. Statement earrings, intricate bangles, and embellished footwear were among my must-haves. These accessories elevated my outfits, ensuring I looked stylish at every function.
Final Thoughts
Planning outfits for a brother’s wedding requires a mix of traditional, contemporary, and statement pieces to stand out while staying comfortable. By carefully choosing different styles and colors for each function, I created a diverse and stylish wardrobe that perfectly suited each occasion. Whether you’re shopping from luxury designers or customizing outfits, focusing on comfort, uniqueness, and a personal style statement will ensure you look and feel your best at every event.
