Things I Bought from Japan – My Japan Shopping Haul You’ll Love!
⏱ 5 min read

Before traveling to Japan, I did a lot of research on what people usually buy and created a curated shopping list based on what’s popular and worth purchasing for my Japan shopping haul. If you’re planning a trip and want inspiration, I’ve also written a detailed Japan Shopping Guide that covers all the must-buy categories.
Now, here’s everything I bought from Japan for myself, my family, and friends—along with what made each purchase special. This is my complete Japan shopping haul!
1. Coach Bags from Gotemba Premium Outlets
At Gotemba Outlet Mall, one of the best outlet shopping in Japan experiences, I picked up two stunning Coach bags:
- Tabby Shoulder Bag in Brown – around ₹32,000
- Hot Pink Coach Bag – around ₹12,000
These bags were definitely among the top things I bought from Japan.

2. Nike Shoes from Gotemba Outlet
Part of my Japan shopping haul was a sleek pair of Nike sneakers for just 9,999 yen (around ₹6,000). They’re super comfortable and stylish. My cousin also picked up a pista green pair. Outlet shopping in Japan has amazing deals!

3. Skincare & Snacks from Don Quijote (Donki)
One of the best things I bought from Japan was skincare from Don Quijote. It’s a shopping haven! My must-buy from Japan list included:
- Biore sunscreen
- Japanese rice masks
- Honey shampoo & conditioner (all variants)
- Fino hair mask
- Pair acne cream
- Rohto Melano CC Essence
- Japan-exclusive KitKats – milk tea, matcha, strawberry
- Umbrella
Shopping in Japan isn’t complete without a trip to Don Quijote.

4. Matcha Goodies from Uji
In Uji, we had a tea ceremony experience and added more to my Japan shopping haul:
- Premium matcha powder
- Matcha chocolates for friends
I also tried two flavors of sake. One didn’t suit my taste, but the second was delightful. If you’re curious about Japan’s tea traditions, explore the rich matcha culture in Japan—it’s a must-buy for tea lovers.

5. Minimalist Finds from Muji
Another highlight of the things I bought from Japan was visiting Muji. I love how simple and functional their products are—no flashy branding, just pure quality. Here’s what I picked:
- Two umbrellas
- Two calculators
Muji is a must-buy from Japan.
6. Nike Air Max 90 from ABC Mart
My friend asked me to buy Nike Air Max 90 shoes, and I found them at ABC Mart for 16,000 yen. Great quality and comfort. This was one of the top shopping in Japan highlights for footwear.

7. Watch & Gadget from Bic Camera – Japan Shopping Haul
At Bic Camera, I found one of the best deals in my Japan shopping haul:
- Seiko watch: Originally 44,000 yen, bought at 50% off
- Tax refund applied: Final cost around 18,000 yen
- Doraemon gadget torch (sadly, not fully functional but still loved it!)
If you’re a Doraemon fan, it’s one of the cutest things to buy in Japan.

8. GU Fashion Finds (Sister Brand of Uniqlo)
Although I didn’t shop from Uniqlo, I went all in at GU! Here’s what I picked:
- Matching co-ord set (shorts + top)
- Golden sandals for mom
- Silver shoes (initially for me, ended up gifting to mom)
- A cute belt
GU is trendy and affordable, a must-buy from Japan for fashion lovers.
9. Royce’ Nama Chocolate from Narita Airport – A Heavenly Steal!
One of the last and sweetest things I bought from Japan was Royce’ Nama Chocolate from Narita Airport.
- Price in India: Around ₹1,500
- Bought in Japan: Just 800 yen (₹500–₹600)
It’s smooth, rich, and divine—a must-buy for chocolate lovers visiting Japan.
10. Japanese Socks & Handkerchiefs – Haul from Japan
Picked up cute Japan-designed socks and ultra-soft handkerchiefs for my grandmother. This was a sweet addition to my Japan shopping haul and a practical gift.
Things I Didn’t Buy – But Explored
I had plans to buy Pandora bracelets but didn’t find anything exciting. Instead, I invested in Coach bags. I also visited luxury stores like Gucci, AMI Paris, and Marc Jacobs. Maybe next time I’ll splurge!
Michael Kors didn’t impress me—I’ve never been a fan. As for Itora, it felt way too overpriced and I didn’t find anything that stood out or felt worth it. Japan shopping haul tip: Don’t buy for the brand, buy what you truly love.
