In fact, we once celebrated his birthday here, and it was one of the most memorable family get-togethers. The moment you step into Maharaja Bhog, you’re welcomed with a traditional ‘namaste’ and a warm smile. The staff treats you like royalty, and the ‘khatirdari’ (hospitality) is exceptional. As you settle down, a grand thali is placed before you, and the servers start filling your plate with a variety of dishes.
One of the most unique aspects of Maharaja Bhog is that there is no fixed menu. Each time you visit, you’re in for a new culinary adventure! I’ve had the chance to try dishes like beetroot puri and ghewar—a sweet I usually wouldn’t go for, but here, you’re encouraged to take a bite of every new dish and expand your palate.
Before your meal, you’re welcomed with a refreshing kesar sharbat, setting the tone for the royal feast ahead. And the experience doesn’t just stop at the food! Before and after your meal, a staff member arrives with a golden sink and offers a luxurious hand wash, making you feel like a true Maharaja about to indulge in a regal banquet.

- Farsan (Starters): A mix of steamed and fried appetizers, such as dhokla, samosa, or khandvi. They also have a Dish of the Day, which can be something like Muthiya Kadhi, Dahi Vada, or Dal Baati Churma.
- Main Course: All sabzis are also available in Jain options. The thali consists of 4-5 sabzis, including:
- A potato-based dish
- A green vegetable preparation
- A Punjabi-style dish (often paneer-based)
- A pulses-based dish
- Indian Breads: You’ll get a variety of breads, including Fulka Roti, Puris (like Beetroot or Spinach puris), and Bajra Roti.
- Dal & Kadhi: There are four variations in total:
- Rajasthani Dal & Rajasthani Kadhi – Spicy and flavorful. My personal favorite is the Rajasthani-style dal and kadhi!
- Gujarati Dal & Gujarati Kadhi – Slightly sweet and tangy.
- Rice & Khichdi: You’ll get three varieties of rice:
- Steamed Rice
- Khichdi
- A special rice dish like pulao or biryani-style rice.
- Sweets: Every meal is incomplete without dessert! Maharaja Bhog offers 2-3 sweet options, such as Moong Dal Sheera, Ghewar, and more.

- Rajdhani Thali – Personally, I found Rajdhani to be an average thali place. The food is decent, but it lacks the luxurious touch and service that Maharaja Bhog offers.
