Onrique Bandra: Honest Dining Experience, Best Dishes & Zomato Offers

Why I Chose Onrique for a Special Celebration?
On Sunday, March 10th, I visited Onrique Bandra for a double celebration—my parents’ 26th anniversary and India vs. New Zealand match night. Finding a restaurant that balances ambience, great food, and a live match screening is tough, but Onrique seemed to tick all the right boxes.
I had read mixed reviews on Zomato—some raving about the food, others mentioning issues like mosquitoes in the outdoor seating. So, I decided to experience it myself and share my honest take.
Ambience at Onrique: Expectations vs. Reality
Indoor vs. Outdoor Seating
Onrique offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Given the summer heat and the mosquito-related reviews, I chose indoor seating.
- Vibrant & Cozy Ambience – The restaurant had a modern yet cozy aesthetic, with warm lighting and a lively atmosphere.
- Smaller Than Expected – From the Zomato images, I imagined a spacious place, but it felt compact. However, the cozy vibe worked well for an intimate dining experience.
Onrique Food Review: Hits & Misses
Every dish was flavorful, but I did feel that portion sizes were slightly small. Here’s what we ordered and my detailed review of each dish:
Appetizers
1. Avo Crème Cheese Gimbap (₹795) (3.5/5)
I was curious to try Gimbap, having eaten sushi numerous times. Gimbap (Korean) and Sushi (Japanese) are similar, but Gimbap typically has a stronger sesame oil flavor.
Taste & Texture:
- The avocado cream cheese gave a smooth, velvety texture.
- The rice was soft and moist, unlike dry sushi.
- A great vegetarian take on Gimbap!

2. Avocado Toast (₹595) (3.5/5)
This was a good for me as I’m writing a blog on Best Avocado Toasts in Mumbai, i had to try avo toast from Onrique.
My Review:
- Creamy and fresh but not extraordinary.
- Project Hum’s avocado toast remains my favorite! I have mentioned about this dish in my blog best dishes in Bandra

3. Barbacoa Taco (₹545) (4.5/5)
A pleasant surprise! The sweet potato stuffing combined with pineapple flavors created a refreshing and unique twist.
Highlight:
A very unique taste – Must try if vising Onrique, Bandra

4. Root Vegetable Bao (₹545) (5/5)
This bao stole my heart. I’m still thinking about it!
Why I Loved It:
- Soft bao texture with a slightly sweet touch.
- Stuffing: I suspect it was lotus stem, pickled onions, and a sweet-spicy sauce.
- Perfect balance of flavors!

Main Course
1. Loaded Primavera – Artisan Pizza (₹545) (3.5/5)
A wood-fired, thin-crust pizza with a generous topping of veggies, olives, onions, and marinara sauce.
Comparison:
While it tasted descent, it’s not the best pizza I’ve had. If you love pizza, check my Best Pizzas in Mumbai blog!

2. Gnocchi – Potato Pasta (₹745) (3.5/5)
Gnocchi is pasta made with potato balls instead of flour-based dough.
What Made It Stand Out?
- Soft, pillow-like potato gnocchi.
- Chili garlic oil drizzle added depth.
- If you love Gnocchi, try Gigi’s Purple Gnocchi—my absolute favorite!

3. Vegetarian Pot Rice (₹747) (3.5/5)
We expected a biryani-style dish, but it turned out to be stir-fried vegetables in gravy with a baked bread crust. The baked bread crust was the real star!

Desserts
1. Decadent Indulgence (₹655) (3/5)
A mix of Belgian chocolate mousse with red berry filling and a raspberry sorbet.
Verdict:
- Not a dessert fan, but my family loved it.
- If you love dark chocolate & tangy sorbets, this is for you!

2. Catalana (₹595) (5/5)
We got this as a complimentary dessert for our celebration. Custard topped with hazelnut sauce and exotic fruits!
